Sam wrote VERY WELL!! Her comments when JR was just diagnosed reminded me of when my youngest son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. His two years older brother (most people think they are twins) was pretty devastated. He uncharacteristically lashed out at his younger brother and was, for awhile, full of anger that his brother was getting all the attention and special treatment. Here we were dealing with this chronic and deadly disease in son #3 and the day to day grind of ASD son #1, with son #2 acting up! We were able to work things out with #2 by giving him special attention and privileges and lots of quality time. The first 6 months were a real struggle! But we are stronger as a family because of it! Penny

Maddy,
Yeah, we are very proud of this "child". She really is very special and like her brother, has such a positive effect on those who know her.

Anne,
She did do a great job on this essay. She impressed her Language Arts teacher a great deal. She got an A for the essay.
